While the PC port was lauded for its extensive settings, the game launched to an overall negative reception due to several technical issues, such as extended shader compilation times, unexpected crashes, degraded performance and stability while compiling shaders in the background, mouse and camera stuttering, and the game being limited to utilizing relatively low CPU power. The PlayStation 5 version was released on September 2, 2022, and the PC port was released on March 28, 2023. The PC version features extensive improvements over the PlayStation 5 release, such as increased resolution, native ultra-wide-screen support, hardware-specific upscaling options (for Nvidia and AMD GPUs respectively), and more. This is the first game in the Last of Us series to be released on PC and the second game developed by Naughty Dog to be released on PC, following Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. The original game was developed by Naughty Dog and published by PlayStation PC. The Last of Us Part I is a remake of the PlayStation 3 game from 2013.
